On Monday March 29, Paw Nation & Co laid to rest one of our most beloved pack members.
Rocky had been with us for 4 wonderful months,
we received him through our partnership with Dallas Animal Services as he was unable to withstand a comfortable lifestyle with all that came with the shelter environment. We were fortunate enough to watch him through many stages, he fought hard each day while still managing to love and inspire so many in his path.
Regrettably, his condition made a fast decline after the winter storm in February and ultimately worsened despite his many strides. The memories of his playful spirit and warrior-like qualities fill our hearts with joy still each day.
We are grateful for this overall and can only hope his story inspires more rescues and individuals alike to take the time to see the significance you can make in one elderly animal’s final days and how it can really become one of the most rewarding experiences for both animal and human.

Puff’s story began in the most unexpected place — right in the living room of Paw Nation’s founder. His mother, a pregnant cat in need of safety and care, was welcomed into rescue just in time. Not long after, Puff entered the world beneath a living room couch, surrounded by warmth, protection, and the promise of a better life. From the very beginning, Puff represented what rescue is truly about: giving animals the chance to be born into safety and love. He was later fostered by family and eventually adopted by the founder’s mother, where he grew up surrounded by affection and a home that every rescue animal deserves. Though Puff’s time here was shorter than anyone hoped, his life remains a reminder of why rescue work matters.
Some animals pass through our lives quietly, but leave pawprints that never fade. Puff will always be part of Paw Nation’s story — from the moment he entered the world under that couch, to the love he experienced throughout his life.
